A clean pet is a happy pet.
At Animal and Avian Medical Center, we offer a full-service grooming salon where your pet is our number one priority and we pride ourselves on catering to each pet individually. Our groomers are experienced in all-breed dog and cat grooming. During your pet’s grooming session, he or she will receive a bath, full coat brush-out, hair cut of your choice, nail trim, and ear cleaning. Our knowledgeable groomers are happy to provide consultations to discuss your pet’s coat type and condition to determine the best cut and style for your pet to keep them looking their best.
To serve you and your pet best, the groomers at Animal and Avian Medical Center are an appointment only service. We have flexible hours available morning, afternoon, and evening to accommodate the owner’s schedules.
Nail Trimming Service
For your convenience, we do offer nail trim service on a walk-in basis during certain office hours. Please call ahead to inquire for specific hours as they do occasionally change. We know that nail trims can be a stressful event for many pets. Please let us know if your pet is anxious during this type of procedure, and our groomers are happy to set up a time to work with your pet in a calm environment to decrease stress.
Grooming can be scary for some pets. For pets that have trouble staying calm during a groom, we offer sedation by a licensed veterinarian. A dedicated registered veterinary technician will be responsible for monitoring your pet throughout the entirety of the procedure. Sedation provides for a safe, happy pet, and a better-quality groom. If this is a service you think would benefit your pet, any of our dedicated veterinarians can examine your pet, discuss the procedure, and provide an estimate.
Prices vary due to breed type, coat condition, frequency of grooming, and behavior. If you would like a quote, please call our grooming department to discuss the best way for us to provide you with an estimate.
Things to Know Before Your Grooming Appointment:
All grooming patients must be up to date on the following vaccinations before their grooming appointment:
- Dogs: DHLPP, Bordetella, Rabies
- Cats: FVRCP, Rabies
It is recommended for most pets to be scheduled on a regular basis, such as every 4 to 6 weeks. Pets that require frequent grooming should be scheduled on a regular basis to help reduce coat problems. Matting makes pets uncomfortable, increases grooming costs, and can decrease options for some styles of cut. Ask our groomers about setting up a schedule for your pet.
Our groomers take great pride in their work and want your pet looking their best, which takes time. A typical groom includes several steps: one or more baths, complete coat blow-out and drying, and styling. This may require several hours to complete. Other factors such as medical conditions, age, and sedation can also increase grooming time. Our grooming staff will let you know what timing to expect during the drop off process.
